Answers to Questions

What is Music Together?
Music Together is an internationally recognized early childhood music and movement program. It strongly emphasizes and facilitates adult involvement. It is based on the belief that all children are musical.

How can I contact you?
The best way is via this website. You can also text or call 425 395 4477 or email [email protected]

What are mixed age classes?
Mixed-age classes provide a rich learning environment because children of different ages thrive when they interact with each other: the babies are often fascinated by the older child, and the “big” children (3- and 4-year-olds) enjoy helping and sharing with the “little” ones. This approach is based on research from music education, early childhood development, and family relationships, as well as 25 years of experience from Music Together.

What are babies classes?
A babies class is a one semester introduction to Music Together after which babies will attend mixed-age classes. The music activities and materials are specially designed for parents who want to learn as much as possible about music development in babies. Meet other parents of newborns and learn some fascinating music activities you can recreate at home with your baby.

How long does a class last?

How long is a semester?

Do I need to stay with my child? Can my caregiver drop off my child?
Parents and/or caregivers are required to remain in the class and are expected to participate in the class activities. Additional adult family members are always welcome.

Can I bring a non-registered child to class?
We understand short term plans change – as a “one off” we are happy to welcome siblings with prior notice – please contact us by email or phone. We expect siblings to fully engage and join in with the class – no sitting in the corner playing Angry Birds! For additional classes we will charge a fee of $15 per week.

Where are you located? Where are your classes held?
We are based in the Issaquah area and are currently offering classes in three locations:

Blakely Hall in the Issaquah Highlands.
Blakely Hall is a convenient walk from much of the Issaquah Highlands – or a short drive from Issaquah, Sammamish and Snoqualmie Ridge neighborhoods. There is ample parking at Blakely Hall.

The Studio Issaquah
The Studio Issaquah is located in downtown Issaquah very close to I-90 and SR900.

Lake Wilderness Lodge in Maple Valley
Lake Wilderness Lodge is located in Maple Valley and serves families in the Maple Valley and Covington areas.

When do your classes start?
The current semester schedule is listed here.

What is your make up policy?
We do not pro rate for missed classes or for late registration. Where possible we will allow each family to ‘make up’ two classes per semester, but this is subject to availability. Make ups will not carry forward to the next semester.

Cancellation policy
Sorry – but no refunds will be given after the start of the semester.

What happens if the weather is bad? What happens in the event of a natural disaster?
If the Issaquah School District closes schools, we will not run classes in Issaquah.
If the Maple Valley School District closes schools, we will not run classes in Maple Valley.
If schools are open but running on a late start we will try to run classes where possible.

We will make every effort to arrange make up classes at the end of the semester. Rarely, due to issues beyond our control, we may not be able to run every class. In extreme circumstance, such as natural disaster, power outage, civil disturbance or community health concerns, rescheduling classes or adding extra makeup classes may not be possible. There will be no refund or credit in such events.

Updates will be posted on the front page of our website. You can also text or call 425 395 4477 or email [email protected] to find out if classes are running.

I am not musical, how can I possibly participate in a class?
It does not matter whether you think you are musical or not. You are a great role model for the child that you bring to class. By participating actively you show them that it is safe to join in and encourages them to be expressive. Whether you can sing in tune or keep a beat you still contribute to your child’s musical environment. Leave your musical inhibitions at the door and come and have fun!

How does the Early Bird Discount work?
The Early Bird Discount can only be applied when registration and payment are completed before 31st August for the Fall 2019 semester.

How does the referral bonus work?
The Referral bonus is $15 per family that you refer, who mention you on the registration form and who complete registration and payment by the first week of the semester. Registration is subject to class availability.

The maximum value of referral bonus is $300 (one child plus sibling). Referral bonus will be applied to the next semester of classes at Tiger Mountain Music Together. Bonus is not transferable and will not carry forward beyond the next semester.

Is there flexibility in the Class Schedule?
Classes may be combined or cancelled based on enrollment. Additional classes may be added. If you do not see a time that works for you – please contact us.
